The Global 5 Gas Brooder is an easy to operate, thermostatically controlled gas brooder. This means the brooder automatically maintains the chosen temperature.
When there is no need for heat, the pilot light keeps the burner operating on the lowest setting. It is therefore very economic to run in saving propane and labour costs.
The Global 5 will operate with or without the air filters. But always use them in a dusty environment.
The strong stainless steel reflector and spherical burner helps to radiate 95% of the heat efficiently downwards. Whilst brooders with cylindrical burner houses radiate 30% upwards. The famous design of the Global heaters is a result and combination of the benefits of the classic ceramic heaters. The spherical Global gas burner emits infrared rays, combined with a round reflector this creates radiation heat evenly on to the brooding area.
The thermostatically controlled Global heaters automatically maintain the chosen temperature. When there is no need for heat, the pilot light keeps the burner operating with very low gas consumption. This will save you time and money.
Global 5’s are designed to be hung at a higher height (between 1.4 mtrs and 1.7 mtrs), therefore it will heat a larger area.
All Alke gas brooders are fitted with a flame failure shut off valve.
The venturi can be removed completely during cleaning. With some other brands, this is not possible so it will result in lower efficiency once they get dirty/dusty.
Because stainless steel is used to manufacture all parts of Alke heaters this ensures that no gaps or warping issues occur. So the metal expands and contracts at the same rate when heating & cooling. As a result the life expectancy of global brooders exceeds 15 years with good maintenance.
