Jumbo Release Pen Netting 6ft is also known as heavy game net. It is an excellent alternative to wire netting therefore very easy to handle and to erect. It will not rust and is exceptionally strong.
Jumbo is a semi-rigid, ultra violet stabilised black polypropylene netting that weighs 80 grams per square metre. It is high strength mesh structure which has been designed to provide an effective control barrier at a cost effective price.

Gamekeepers often use a combination of wire netting and plastic fencing to make release pens. To construct the release pen fence you need an overall height of about 7 ft, with about 1 ft buried below ground or turned out and secured down with U pins to stop predators from digging in. A further foot should be turned out at the top to hold back predators that try to jump or climb in.
Many follow the guidelines set out by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust for release pen construction. However, every Gamekeeper has their own way!
Measure the area to be protected in order to determine how many metres of fence to order.
The fencing can be attached to existing trees with staples. When doing so, we recommend that the trees are no more than 20ft apart. If so, additional supports will be needed. For optimum results use 10ft posts which should be buried 3 feet deep. Pull the fence tight before securing to supports. For additional support attach to straining wire along the top and bottom of the fence, securing it to the supports.
Deer are notorious for trying to push under a fence. In order to keep them from getting in, be sure the netting touches the ground so that you can anchor it using metal pins every 3 mtrs. Alternatively you could also use wire netting for the bottom half of the fence.
If deer are numerous or for deer farms, you should consider a stronger alternative.
