Heavy Galvanised Wire Netting – 50mm (2″)

The Heavy Galvanised Wire Netting – 50mm mesh that we stock is galvanised after manufacture for the best quality.  It is popular with Gamekeepers for building release pens. 50mm (2″) mesh size is commonly purchased for top part of the fence on a release pen because it is cheaper than the smaller mesh and up high you don’t need the smaller holes to keep out rats or rabbits.

All our wire is premium quality, hot dipped galvanised.

Please note: The 1800mm high wire netting can only be delivered by a pallet service.

Release Pens

Gamekeepers often use a combination of wire netting and plastic fencing to make release pens. To construct the release pen fence you need an overall height of about 7 ft, with about 1 ft buried below ground or turned out and secured down with U pins to stop predators from digging in. A further foot should be turned out at the top to hold back predators that try to jump or climb in.

Many follow the guidelines set out by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust for release pen construction. However, every Gamekeeper has their own way!
