Replacement Nets & Handles FAQs

How do I know which replacement net fits my frame?

Check the hoop shape, perimeter size, and fitting method. Some frames use laced attachment, others use hemmed sleeves or clips. A correct match ensures the mesh tension is balanced, which improves net performance and lifespan.

When should a headbag be replaced instead of repaired?

If the mesh is thinning, stretched, or torn in multiple places, replacement is the better option. Repairs work for small holes but cannot restore lost tension. A fresh headbag protects fish better and restores the original handling feel.

Are replacement handles universal across all nets?

Not always. Different brands use different fittings, materials, and thread sizes. Stainless poles are heavier and often use welded fittings. Always confirm compatibility before ordering a replacement.

What is the benefit of upgrading to a stainless steel handle?

Stainless handles offer rigidity that lighter poles cannot match. They resist bending during heavy lifting and last longer in intensive use. Upgrading reduces long-term cost and improves operational reliability.

How should spare nets and handles be stored?

Store nets dry and away from direct sunlight. Avoid folding mesh tightly for long periods because creases weaken fibres. Handles should be kept clean and free of grit to protect fittings. Many operators hang nets on designated drying racks to maximise airflow.
