Be quiet!

It’s important to be as quiet as possible when walking to your peg – loud noises could potentially scare the birds away and make your shot harder. For example, don’t shout or slam car doors – save all the noise and chatter for a well-earned drink at the end of the day

Your position is essential

Placing your feet correctly is always the first step: don’t forget to move your feet and position yourself before you take your shot. Following footwork, don’t forget to use your lead hand. A wise and experienced shooter knows the importance of using their lead hand to do the pointing. Bear in mind that when taking a shot, the barrel should be aligned with your shoulder, and moving too much could mean missing the line of a bird and taking a poor shot. Always practice beforehand

It might be obvious, but practice makes perfect. Get familiar with gun mounting and pulling the trigger while moving the gun. The more practice and confidence, the more success you will have. Practicing beforehand also ensures more safety when shooting.

Have fun and stay safe. Time flies when you’re having fun, but don’t forget that safety always comes first.
