GP Flex – 1000, 1400 & 1800

GP Flex is a plastic mesh for stabilizing and reinforcing grass subject to vehicular traffic.

• 1000 – Suitable for pedestrians, wheelchair access, occasional car use i.e. overflow car parks, temporary access
• 1400 – Suitable for occasional use of light commercial vehicles, caravans and 4x4s
• 1800 – Suitable for occasional use of HGV’s access routes for fire engines and refuse trucks.

Applications

The GP FLEX plastic mesh, thanks to its particular mesh structure and mechanical characteristics, is suitable for different applications that require high resistance, in particular slip resistance of vehicles.

• It is ideal for building green car parks, transit areas or storage areas for cars, caravans or garden machinery
• It resists the load of cars and heavy vehicles or garden machinery
• Suitable as reinforcement of grass surfaces subject to pedestrian and vehicle use or heavy traffic

Features

• Plastic mesh obtained through coextrusion of two polymers: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) that gives durability to the product and EVA to increase slip resistance of vehicles
• With green/brown oscillated mesh that harmonizes with the environment

Installation

GP Flex should be laid down in early spring through to early autumn when the grass will grow quickly though the mesh and the root mass will form an interlock with the mesh filaments.

• Turn over the soil, clear it, and compress it until you obtain a compact sub-base that can withstand vehicle load
• Unroll the GP FLEX reel and fix the mesh to the ground with U Pins, it is recommended to apply one U staple per metre approximately.
• Sow grass seeds and cover them with at least 2 cm of soil
• Water the soil frequently and abundantly

In conclusion the protected area will soon resume its natural appearance providing a stable surface and protecting the area from damage and rutting by vehicles and pedestrians.
