The Turmeric Tablets for dogs and cats are specially formulated using a pure and potent extract. Consisting of 95% curcuminoids – the active part of turmeric – which can help support your pet`s natural anti-inflammatory processes. Extracted from whole root and with added Bioperine® (black pepper extract) to help boost absorption, you can be sure that our supplement has maximised quality and bioavailability.
Turmeric is the latest wonder herb from Southern India and is in the same family of herbs as ginger. Rhizome is the part of the plant that is eaten. This is the underground, horizontal stem, commonly termed the root.
Researchers widely attribute the therapeutic effects of turmeric to its contained compounds known as curcuminoids. There are three main curcuminoids but the most common and well known is curcumin. This makes up 80% of the total curcuminoids in turmeric. However, curcuminoids only account for 2-6% of the root’s content and the whole root provides activities superior to curcumin alone. By taking supplements created using the whole root you get a whole host of other benefits from all the other compounds that make up turmeric, as well as the curcuminoids.

This indicates the proportion of curcumin that the body can absorb and effectively enter the bloodstream post-ingestion. This can then have active effects on the body. Luckily, we have a solution! By adding in a compound found naturally in black pepper called piperine (Bioperine®) the bioavailability of curcumin is increased. In fact, one study has found that taking piperine along with curcumin can increase its bioavailability by 2000%!

Turmeric has even been found to be mixed with other ingredients and artificially coloured.
