Choosing the Right Electric Fencer

Power source and output are the two things that matter most. As a guide:

• Bug Fencer (BX100) – battery-powered (2 x D cell, lasting up to 8 weeks), energises up to 5km of single wire. The lightest and lowest-cost option, suited to a single small pen with no power nearby.
• Solar Bug Fencer (SX250) – a hybrid of solar power, rechargeable battery and standby backup, also energising up to 5km. Same use case as the Bug Fencer, but for sites where you’d rather not keep changing batteries.
• Mosquito Fencer – battery-powered (6V/9V dry or 12V rechargeable), energising up to 18km. A step up in range while staying fully portable.
• DX200 Duo Electric Fencer – runs off mains electricity or a 12V battery, 2.0 joules output, up to 18km / 6 nets. Useful where you want the flexibility to run off mains but keep the option of battery power.
• DX500 5J Energiser – mains or 12V battery, 4.9 joules output, up to 22km and suitable for sites up to 75 acres. The most powerful option in the range, for larger perimeters.
