Collins Drysuits FAQs

Are drysuits warmer than wetsuits?

Both wetsuits and drysuits are designed to keep you warm when wet, but they are typically used for different purposes. Wetsuits are made from neoprene and work by trapping a thin layer of water in between you and the suit that is warmed by body heat. They are ideal for watersports where flexibility is paramount and are typically worn for short periods of time. Wetsuits come in a variety of thicknesses to suit the conditions.

Drysuits on the other hand, are worn by individuals who need to be in wet conditions for hours at a time. They are crafted from thick, waterproof material and will keep the wearer completely dry. Drysuits can be worn in conjunction with thermal undersuits to provide an additional layer of insulation. Drysuits are typically warmer than wetsuits.
