When should you take down a drum feeder?

It has been commonplace to take down drum feeders over the winter period, however Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust recommends that you leave it up year round. Winter feeding has been shown to keep gamebirds in good body condition, increase the success of breeding in pheasants, improve shooting returns and reduce the dispersal of gamebirds in late winter.
