What depth do crayfish live?

Crayfish are normally found in shallow waters like ponds and streams. On average, they reside around 3 metres deep, and like to stay hidden, using their surroundings as cover. However, they can be found up to 30 metres deep. Crayfish like to dig for cover and water. How deep they dive is normally dependent on how quick they dive to evade predators.
