What are dry suits used for?

Our drysuits are primarily used by rescue services and fisheries workers. They are designed to keep the wearer warm and dry whilst carrying out tasks in and around water. Our drysuits are made from high-quality material, which creates a waterproof barrier to protect the wearer from the wet environment. Tight seals prevent water entering around the neck and cuffs. Water cannot permeate the fabric.

Drysuits have a looser fit than wetsuits, which allows a thermal undersuit to be worn underneath. This provides an additional layer of insulation, which in tandem with the drysuit, enables the wearer to work in water for a prolonged period of time without getting cold.

The Environment Agency and fisheries workers wear drysuits for a range of purposes, including installing and maintaining nets, carrying out water samples and surveys, installing pipe work and moving fish.

Rescue agencies rely upon drysuits to carry out rescues in the water or extreme weather conditions.
