How does this rat poison work, and how long does it take?

As an anticoagulant, it works by gradually disrupting the rodent’s normal blood clotting, rather than killing on first contact. Rats and mice need to feed on the bait, usually over several visits, before it takes effect, so don’t expect an immediate result. In practice this means checking your bait points regularly, ideally within the first 10 to 14 days, topping up anything that’s been eaten, and relocating bait if you’re not seeing activity within 7 to 10 days. Patience and regular monitoring get better results than expecting a quick kill.
